10 Days until the Return to Glory begins!

I think I've had too much coffee this morning.
For the past several months, I've been thinking 4-8 or 5-7 --- MAYBE 6-6.

As of this morning, I am convinced that the Return to Glory will begin on August 30 and we'll be playing some football in late December.

Go Gophers. RAH.

Brewster says in post-practice interview on Goldzone that sophomore walk-on Jonathan Hoese out of Glencoe was impressive in goal line drill; "he was a load" to bring down.

Says he's not getting too excited yet, but is intrigued about possibility of Hoese in short yardage and running the belly play. Also tossing around looking at him as the one back in the base offensive package to give the defense a different look, change of pace from smaller backs. Let Hoese hammer...

Where is the best place to buy tickets for a reasonable price? And if I know someone that goes to the U, can they buy me student tickets, and can I use them? Or would I have to show a student id at the door of the dome?

I'll be making my second trip to Madison and my first trip to Purdue. Any tips on where to stay/what to do in West Lafayette? I haven't heard good things about the trip but its a must to continue to make progress on the Big Ten tour. Has anyone booked their hotel room yet? A quick search of the area didn't reveal much for availability.

New Construction Next to TCF Bank Stadium

Can anyone shed some light on this....perhaps someone intimately involved in the construction process? What is that new building going up just to the north of TCF Bank Stadium? Is it completely unrelated to the stadium or will it serve some sort of function related to the stadium? I don't remember hearing about another building going up there, but the timing is interesting...

question about the playing surface at brickhouse II

i know the new stadium will have field turf as the playing surface - which many teams around the country now use. that being said do any of you with knowledge of the construction site know if the proper drainage infrastructure, etc. were put into place to future proof the field should the gophers ever decide they want to move back to a natural grass playing surface?

Will all those in Big Ten states get all the Big 10 games, even if there are multiple games on at the same time?

Example.

On opening day August 30th, there are 6 Big Ten games slated for the 11 a.m. time slot on BTN. When I sit my hindside on my parents' couch in Illinois as they experience the BTN for the 1st time (they're Comcast digital subscribers), will there be 5 overflow channels so that we'll have access to all 6 games? Will there be only be a couple...

Here are links to two articles. The basic info is that senior QB Dan Nicholson played with shoulder pain all last year, had shoulder surgery in the offseason and was expected to start. He hasn't taken a snap since last Tuesday, though, due to shoulder pain and did not participate in the team's scrimmage on Saturday. If he doesn't take significant snaps during the next day or two, it is likely that he'll be replaced (at least for their game with us) by redshirt freshman...

Obviously, we'll learn a lot about the Gophers as they face NIU in week 1. But I think there are a few things we can learn about our prospective opponents as well. Here are 4 games that might tell us something:

Erik Decker gets overlooked

In 2007, Eric Decker was the #24 receiver in yards per game and #25 in receptions per game among returning receivers (those not graduating or going to the NFL early). Yet, he did not crack College Football News' top 25 receivers. Hopefully, our opponents will also fail to realize that he's one of the best in the nation.
