I think (and hope) this kid wants to stay close to home. It was reported that his family is opposed to him going away from home to prep school. Kansas is
attractive because they win but this kid can be the hometown hero. Minnesotans can idolize their sports heroes with the best of them.
I recall the time in 1997 when a police escort was needed to safely bring Bobby Jackson out of the MOA. The poor kid thought he could just go hang out at the
mall after leading the Gophers to the final four. He was nearly crushed by his fans.

Trust me, the fanaticism of Gopher hoops is not even on the same planet as Kansas.
What we experienced in 1997 was incredible and I can't wait until we have it again. But head to head comparisons of fanaticism versus KU is not going to be a battle we'll win. We have a lot to offer a kid like Rodney that KU doesn't, but comparable fanaticism isn't it. Go Gophers!!
