Kentucky has granted Mike Williams, a 6'11" center, a relaese from his scholarship. Williams was one of Tubby's last recruits at UK. He is
now free to follow Coach Smith to UM. I would certainly expect Coach Smith to contact him.

He is in the mold of other centers recruited by Coach Smith, such as Orbzut, Alleyne, and Carter.

My bet is that we will end up with 4 schollies available for the 09-10 season. Not sure how, but I bet we will. That will give us room for for a pg, a big,
Royce and Rodney. You said we will have presumably recruited a freshman pg, but if Jasper is coming here, there is no need to do that.
So if we could get Jasper and Rodney to already compliment Royce, we would only need to recruit a big man for that class. Boy, that would be and ideal scenario in my mind. Let's hope it works out! Reinstate Kelly Leeks!!! |

Again you know I love you FOT, but I have to bust you chops
Only FOT can put everything into numbers and statistics and no thinking beyond numbers, only FOT can say that Tubby put 2/3 of a player into the NBA |

Tubby's bio at Minnesota Athletics claims Bradley as one of his NBA players.
Because he is one of them. |

Someone I get good stuff from tells me that Jasper is through at Kentucky and is interested in Minnesota. He really likes Tubby. He is getting pulled from
back home, too, but all things being equal, Minnesota would be a logical choice if he follows through with a transfer.
Off the topic a bit and not a slam on Jasper: Illinois went hard after Jasper and he visited campus and scrimmaged with the team. Deron Williams was in town preparing for the NBA. Jasper made a good play and made the mistake of letting Deron know about it. Deron "punked" him the rest of the scrimmage. Scored at will. Was very physically defensively. Took the ball away. Etc. Etc. Etc. After Jasper left, I was told that we would never get him because Deron had embarrassed him. Normally, as you know, the players take it easy on recruits because they want the recruits to feel good about their visit. But something set Deron off, and Jasper paid for it. Nothing dirty, just higher level play than high school recruits are used to. Again, not a slam on Jasper. He was a high school kid and Deron does that to NBA guards these days. Just not a good recruiting move on Deron's part. :) |

kind of similiar to when Khalid got his assed kicked at a gopher scrimmage, although the odds of us outbidding UConn or
Georgetown at that point we're pretty slim. |

Where Jasper goes perhaps Meeks follows?

Meeks not leaving, Jasper very likely is.
Neither to Minnesota. |

Jasper is still not 100% sure he is going to transfer but it is 100% sure it won't be Minn. UNLV looks to be a top choice.
I looked at that bio of Smith and found the list of players to be flawed. First when someone claims to have given players the skill to jump to the next level I think NBA. Being that I think that either they were drafted or have their playing time listed in seasons, not games. Also your 2/3 comment raised the question of how many years dose a coach have to coach a kid to get the credit? Example if Smith coachs a kid his fr year only out of 4 years dose he get only 1/4 credit or full or none? |

I think Sour is correct. I don't think Tubby would have offered Jones if he thought it would preclude us from getting another big.

Tubby coached and/or recruited 3 Tulsa players who made NBA. 2 Georgia players. And 14 Kentucky players. Total of 19.

2 at Tulsa. 2 at Georgia. 11 at Kentucky. That's 15.
1 at Tulsa and 3 at Kentucky played partial seasons in NBA. |
