I realize most of the people here don't frequent such establishments, but you may want to let your country cousins up here know they probably won't be
able to get into Chili's, Old Country Buffet or the Red Lobster for the next few days. Hope this helps.

I thought Brewster held some meet-and-greet functions at the local Applebee's.

So Minnesotans are Such Snobs They Won't Go to Applebees? | #3

I didn't know Gopher fans were waaaaaaay too sophisticated to go to Perkins, Applebees, Chilis, Fridays, OCB, etc? Enjoy your sushi bars and vegetarian
grills. Ha!

I don't like TGI Fridays, gross. Can I get sugar-filled Jack Daniels glaze over all my low quality meats?
Thanks!! |

Don't listen to the fools, Handsome Pete. That was very funny. I didn't LOL, I actually laughed out aloud.

The sad part about being a student is I can't afford to go to these restaurants the rest of you are mocking.

OCB. I've often noticed that normal people walk in but only obese people walk out. There are only two possibilities, one is that you gain an enormous
amount of weight while inside, or the second is that the fat people eat the skinny people.
HA! LOL! Only a buffoon votes for a buffoon. Seriously, you are and will always be lame. Only a herd beast votes as you. Nasa36

There is nothing wrong with occasionally stopping at an Applebees, Perkins, TGI Fridays, Chilis, etc. for a meal. But Iowegians treat these places like we
treat Manny's. They are the creme de la creme for these people. I expect that some Squawkeyes will be walking into the Applebees on Block E saturday
afternoon for lunch wearing a tie to gussy up their overalls.

GophBen wrote:It's option right, GophBen takes the pitch, away he goes- TD GophBen. Now we're going for two and GophBen goes plunging into the endzone with the verb "gussy". I hope the Gopher offense moves as efficiently on Saturday. Hope this helps. |

Plus many of them are thrilled to find Hotel rooms in Bloomington at higher rates than they | #12
|
would pay to stay in downtown so they can go to a glorified Meryl Hay (MOA/ Des Moines reference) mall and ride the light rail to downtown.
The better option is to get a stay at a better hotel downtown, hang out at Brits, the Local, the Newsroom, the warehouse district, and even uptown or NE. then take a 2 minute cab ride to the game or walk, or take the 8 block train ride. Most of these fans have no clue as to how to enjoy a Friday night followed by a 6 pm start in downtown Minneapolis. One Iowa clown Rivals poster actually lamemted having to stay at the Hotel next to the Ichiban steakhouse by across from the Hyatt because the Metrodome was too far away, and because the opportunity to stay in Bloomington and ride the light rail to the game was lost?????? As an Iowa fan, I'd rather stay in Northfield and drive 45 minutes to the game than suffer through some dreary Super 8 by the Mall of America follwed by a visit to Applebees or Chilli's . |
